We all have bad habits that are part of our lives, shaping our daily routines and influencing our behaviours in ways that often go unnoticed. Breaking free from these ingrained patterns to embark on a journey of self-improvement can be challenging. The process of breaking bad habits and fostering positive change involves the transformative power of creating new habits. This requires conscious effort, discipline, and a commitment to fostering healthier alternatives.
PROBLEM
Overeating is a prevalent unhealthy behaviour globally, especially among the younger population. Those who overeat often adopt unhealthy eating habits and tend to skip exercise, making them more prone to gaining weight easily.
SOLUTION
The app helps users establish a healthy eating and workout routine by monitoring their intake of unhealthy foods, following a diet plan, sticking to a structured workout plan, and accomplishing fat loss while building muscle tone.
QUESTION
HMW motivate users to establish and maintain a healthy routine, helping them overcome bad habits and remain committed to forming successful new habits through guidance?

USER RESEARCH
To understand the problem, I conducted in-person interviews with 10 participants.
”
“I’ve experimented with a few food and fitness trackers in the past, but I eventually lost motivation.”
”
“I am struggling with balancing a healthy lifestyle and working from home.”
”
“Breaking free from that cycle is tough.”
Competitive Analysis & Field Diary
To understand the landscape of solutions, I conducted a competitive analysis of 12 wellbeing tracker apps on the market and selected four of them for further analysis through a field diary.
In the field diary, six questions have been developed to identify the common pain points users experience when using the current wellbeing tracker apps on the market.
User Story, Storyboard & User Journey Map
It is another day of working from home. The freelance illustrator, Emily, is busy working on her projects. She feels like having a big lunch after working for the whole morning. After lunch, she continues to work for a few hours until the sun goes down and the moon rises. Emily gets hungry again and decides to have a big dinner.
Before she goes to bed, she opens her fridge to find some snacks to eat. While casually browsing Instagram on her phone, she notices her favourite designer brand has released a new drop of beautiful dresses. In the picture, three girls are wearing those dresses and looking fit and gorgeous. Emily then looks at herself in the mirror and sighs deeply.
A few days later, Emily receives her package of a new dress that she ordered. She is so excited to try it on. However, she is no longer a size 10 as she used to be. Emily decides to start exercising to lose fat and get toned. She tries some workouts in the next few days and pushes herself so hard that she loses her appetite. She eats really poorly for three days in a row and gets sick.
During the weekend, she has to cancel one of her freelance projects to rest in bed. Unfortunately, she loses a major client because of this. While sitting on her bed, Emily starts questioning herself about what she is doing with her life.
